Forum Title: Ditra Over Hardwood?
I'm ready to start tiling in an old house/ 3/4 subloor with 1 1/2 x 3/4 oak flooring. Everything thing is solid, screwed thru the floor to the joists and sanded clean. Now someone told me i can't put ditra over hardwood. Is this true. I have not contacted schluter yet. Wanted your opinion. thanks Mike

No Ditra over hardwood.... Hardwood flooring moves to much through the seasons. Pull the hardwood, replace with plywood. Go with at least 1/2 AC ply...

Got the hardwood torn up, not too bad of a job. i cut it into 20 swaths [fits in my wood stove], then took a roofing shovel to it. worked slick. I'm going to wait after I do the drywall then install 3/4 t & g osb under the ditra-heat. Should work fine according to Schluter. mike
